riaj_logo-zz6Japan has come out with another plan in hopes of controlling the amount of people in its country that illegally download music online via their cell phones. The Recording Industry of Japan (RIAJ), is trying to crack down on illegally downloaded music on the various sites by urging the online venues to delete those music files that were obtained without the rights-holders’ permission. The RIAJ also hopes that these venues will ban these same people from using their services in the future.

RIAJ, has estimated that around 407 million ringtones and full-length tracks have been transferred to cell phones. That number has jumped by 8 million since last year.
